Fangirls are sooo back.

Online, they are practically everywhere - creating epic TikTok edits, and reposting 'im coming to the cottage' memes.

But the magic is in the offline: physical, communal spaces to fangirl freely and exchange modern heirlooms i.e. tangible keepsakes that mark their experiences and signal their belonging. You'll spot them as the bracelets, the stickers, the bag charms, the tattoos they layer on top of each other to signal their varied affiliations and obsessions.

The Format

We took over an underground bar in Ann Siang Hill, one of the jazziest neighbourhood of Singapore, where 50 fans showed up to immerse in a ‘Heated Rivalry’ world on Valentine’s Day.

The entrance set the scene: Jane and Lily's iconic texts lining the walls, tracing their slow-burn romance message by message. Step through the curtains and you're met with posters of the two stars covering every nook and cranny. Even the cups and drinks menu were dressed for the occasion.

The night played out with drinks at the bar, followed by a 3-round trivia that tested the depth of their fangirl knowledge, and ended with screenings of legendary fan edits to iconic soundtracks.
