On ‘half past’ dinner club.
We bring together an intimate group of 12 kindred souls for good conversations over good food ✨
Inspiration
In a world ridden with funnels and tubes that only aim to accelerate us towards a specific goal, I wanted to create a space that creates room for non-goal-directed, exploratory activity. Specifically, I wanted to create a third space outside of school and work where one can go to expand their social circle and indulge in deep conversations.
The Format
Each dinner is kept small and intimate, with a curated list of 12 people sat in a warm, cosy setting. Every dinner is accompanied by a central prompt that guests are invited to ponder about prior to gathering. Past questions include:
What are you dying to talk about?
What would you do if you were given permission to?
What type of intuition would you like to hone, and why?
What’s one thing you wish you knew sooner?
In the two hours that we spend together, we dive deep. Skipping past the tired question of ‘what do you do for work?’, every guest gets to share their own personal stories and feelings. It often feels like toasted marshmallows over a warm fire, as guests begin to riff off each other, revelling in shared experiences, and camaraderie and connection begins to form.
